Last night was different...

...she clung to me instead of pushing me away. She rested her head on my shoulder with no tears and slept there quietly until I finally put her down for the night. She has slept peacefully since.

Oh Heavenly Father I am grateful for this gift. Please help me to treasure her always as you treasure all of your children. Help me to be the mommy that she needs...

My mom and I are meeting David (another guide) in the lobby at 6:15 this morning to go to Zhanjiang. The rest of the group will be going to the zoo with Rebecca.

Love you all...

  12. I am so happy you got a small little glimpse into what sweet love you will get from Clara (at least at night). She seems to be very happy to be with you during the day. She is learning every minute of the matchless love of her new mommy. Things will be lovely in time. We will pray that time is sooner rather than later. (I wanted you to know I have checked and read your post everyday even though I have not commented every time. Reid is still pretty sick and is taking alot of time and energy. He is sleeping now. Please tell Aaron we hope he feels better and to hang in there. Daniel is watching football for him since you are gone. Maybe that will make him feel better. We love you all and I can't wait to see you when you get back.

  16. Oh, my sweet friend, I am crying with/for you right now. I am so thankful that you had such a precious moment with YouYou last night. God knew that you needed it right then, so he gave you a glimpse of the days to come. He is so good! We prayed for Aaron in our family time last night, and I woke up this morning praying for him. Please tell him we love him and hope he feels better soon. We may make another trip to the States this year, and if so, I cannot wait to actually meet your precious little YouYou. I love you dear and am so happy to hear of your wonderful night!

  17. Hi! I'm so happy to read your updates and see the pics! I got caught up this morning, and y'all have been in my heart and prayers. (We're still chasing being sick around here, and I can't seem to shake it like the boys have.) We are definitely praying for Aaron's healing. I've thought so much about little YouYou and how she's learning your love more and more each day, and I'm so thankful that you had a sweet and peaceful night. We'll look forward to hearing more about your last few days and then welcoming you home!!
    Love,

  19. Erica and family we have been watching from a distance and after reading all of the other posts it did not seem that there was much else to say each day. So we didn't post... but, I did want to let you all know that each of you are in our prayers and that we are praying for a safe and non-eventful return.

I can only imagine what this trip has been like for you guys. What an awesome way to start 2009. You You looks as though she "fits" right in. To me she is like the one piece of the puzzle that had fallen out of the box that you could not find... but wait, there it is... the one small little piece that makes all the difference in the world...the picture is now complete. Isn't it amazing how God puts all of the pieces together in his time.

    See you all soon.
