First of all let me apologize for not posting about our day yesterday. I really wanted to post last night when we got back to the hotel but I was forbidden. Seriously, the family would not let me leave the room. They did have good intentions though, because I was almost delirious. I had only slept about 2 hours the night before, and maybe 2 on the plane, so the lack of sleep was taking its toll. I also had to carry Jackson for what seemed like miles because he fell asleep during the last hour of the tour. Papa tried his best to carry him and was successful for a little while but he kept "almost" waking up and he only wanted his mommy. Carrying 39 pounds of dead weight for that long is not something I've done in a long time. Aaron had his hands full carrying Carter (I'm so glad Carter didn't insist on mommy b/c those 10 extra pounds would have been a killer). The boys have been super good, but they could not be woken up after they fell asleep.
So since I was not allowed to leave the room last night I went to sleep a few minutes after we got back (around 9:00) and I slept soundly until 12:45 am, and then went back to sleep until Jack woke up at 2:00. He finally went back to sleep around 4:00 this morning and slept soundly until 6'ish. Carter did not wake up a single time!
Didi is going to post to the blog later to give you guys a few interesting facts about Hong Kong (from our tour yesterday). And I'll fill in whatever she leaves out when we get back tonight (we're about to leave for HK Disney). We've promised the kids we can get back to the hotel in time for them to swim tonight so we won't be late. I do promise to blog tonight!!!
I love, love, love reading all of your comments. It feels like you are all here with me! Thank you for lifting us up in prayer and making me laugh and cry each time I sit at the computer.
Before I end I do feel like I need to apologize for making my husband look bad about paying for internet access!! I had told him it wasn't a big deal if we didn't post pictures while we are in Hong Kong, but obviously I was wrong :) Please bear with me - I'll take care of you guys as soon as I can!
Karla, just in case you haven't checked your email yet - we bought our tickets for the train and we will be arriving in Guangzhou at 10:09 am on Sunday. Thank you for making sure that our guide is informed. You are the best!
Now that I'm reading back over this post I realize it is a whole lot about nothing but my lack of sleep :) Oh well, I guess that gives you an accurate depiction of how things are going! Despite my exhaustion, I'm doing well, so don't worry. But please pray that I will sleep better tonight.

Erica, I'm taking Aimee's place as blog stalker. I'm 'fessin' up. I was concerned.
ReplyDeleteBut now I feel better reading this...and I totally understand about the lack of sleep. Good for your family for making you go to bed. Sleep is a wonderful thing! It makes all the difference in the world! You will be amazed that in the next day or so, you will sleep all night and realize "Hey, I'm used to the time change now!" And then you'll get You You and WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
We're itching to go to Disney World and take our 3 newest additions who have never been. I can't wait to hear how Hong Kong Disney is! Jackson and Carter are such troopers! You are too for carrying one for so long...he's just getting you in super great shape for carrying little bitty You You everywhere. See? She'll feel like a little feather now! can't wait!
Love you!
Get more sleep. Post blogs cause like everyone else, we are obsessed. Have a great day today at Disney. We love you.
ReplyDeleteJust know that in the end of your lack of sleep, you will have your daughter!!!!
ReplyDeleteWere praying, and we continue to think about you guys.
Keep us posted, can't wait to see pictures.
Love,
David, Heather, Tyler, & Landen Yell
Erica,
ReplyDeleteThe library is buzzing with your news reports! Disney should be interesting "translated" into another language and culture.
So many are sending prayer your way -- even the Thursday DISCIPLE 3 class knows all about your exciting trip and they send prayers and best wishes for all 8 of you.
This truly is a day the Lord has made and we rejoice with you all in it.

ReplyDeleteHow exciting about Disney World. I really wanted to do Hong Kong, but just didnt have time this time around....Next time maybe?
You need to get some rest. You You doesnt want a tired Mommy. She is going to be so excited to have her family.
Cant wait for the next update and pictures (hehe).
Love you

Hey friend,
ReplyDeleteOK...HOLD UP YOUR PINKY FINGER. Go ahead, do it now. Is it up?? Now repeat after me...." I will post more often because people back home are going looney checking my blog like 10 times per hour. This is my pinky promise."
Oh Erica,
I was so worried about you! I prayed all day for you. I had a feeling you were just pooped out. I am glad you got some sleep. What a sweet mama you are for carrying your baby boy. They are such troopers. How is the food over there? While I am sleeping, you will be hanging out with Mickey Mouse, what fun! Not too much going on today. I went to the thrift store today to buy some clothes that I could just "leave" in China. Well, turns out my $2.00 jeans are so cute, I don't want to leave them! I did buy a couple sweaters that would be warm that I could leave. I hope this will help my packing situation. Sunday, we leave for Kentucky and guess what??? ITs going to snow!! The kids are so excited. Poor Carlton has to sit in class all day! I will have his lap top in the room, so you know I will check your blog like a maniac. OK, please tell us all when you get You You, what day in the USA?
Love you girl and I can't wait till you get back home.
PS. Tell Aaron we love him too! We just like to give him a hard time about silly things!
Hi there! Can you just point out to your husband that I haven't said one word about him? He usually expects a hard time from me and I have been really nice to him lately! I am now thinking I have been nice for too long and will scheme up something to razz him about! HA! I love you guys! Don't over do it too much! You need to your energy for Monday!! Don't forget how much emotion can wear you out too! I love you tons!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear from you! Since I didn't know exactly what you were up to today then I didn't know what to pretend I was doing there with you! :)
ReplyDeletePraying for some sweet rest and restored energy for your whole family!!!
~Laura
Hope Aaron knows we are all just giving him grief... Love reading all the details. Brings back memories of being sooo tired and then wide awake in the middle of the night. And being so excited and so amazed at everything around us. Have fun!!

I hope you guys are having a great time at Disney. I can't wait to read Didi's post about Hong Kong too. She and Neesie should both be able to blog or email me or Emily daily with an update that we can post!
ReplyDeleteI love you all! Tyler says he hopes that the boys have fun swimming and he wishes he were there with you.
Hey! So glad to hear another update. At the risk of being yelled at by everyone else, please don't pressure yourself for our sakes! We want to hear from you when you can, but make sure you get rest so that you are your best for You You when you see her! We all love you too, Aaron, we just REALLY love to give you a hard time. Hope you have a great time at Disney! Love to all of you!
