Neesie's Email Update

Yeah Mom!!! Thanks so much for sending us an update!!

This is Wednesday. We do not have any official paperwork or anything related to the adoption until 3 p.m. Erica and Aaron have to go to the police station for fingerprints. Right now (11:50) Aaron is running in the health club and David, Dixie, Erica and the kids are outside in a garden at the hotel. We have been playing in the kiddie room this morning. I am now sitting in Starbucks. I am thrilled that I might get to go to a library here in Guangzhou on Thursday afternoon. Our guide, Rebecca, said something about taking her daughter to the library, and of course my ears perked up. She said we could ride the subway and go there on Thursday. She said their subway is "very clean and safe, not like in New York City..." I hope to get some pictures. We will change hotels on Friday to be at the same hotel as another couple that Rebecca will be working with. Rebecca said there will be better shopping opportunities near the Victory Hotel than we have here.

Erica is having a good time being mommy again, but she is going to have to learn about little girls’ hair. She has no idea how to do a ponytail or maybe she is just afraid of hurting YouYou and she wants Dixie or me to be the meanie. This morning Dixie put YouYou's hair in 2 pony tails with bows. She looked very cute...but how could she look any other way. After a while though, she started pulling at them; I guess she wanted them taken down. She is a very expressive little girl.

Tyler, Carter was smiling after he talked to you this morning. I really am so glad you guys called. Carter shared his new Star Wars Leapster game with Jackson this morning (the first time Jackson has played it) and that is all he wants to do now. He carried the Leapster to the playroom, walking down the hall playing away. I'm not sure he ever looked up and would have walked into several people except for a hand on his head guiding him. Carter and I played basketball and he beat me 3 out of 5 games of Horse. He wanted to play a longer game than Horse so we spelled Alabama...but I got lost with all the A's and I am not really sure who won that game.

There is a large park across the street from the hotel we are going to try to go to a little later. Someone told Aaron there is a dragon there that is about a block long. Maybe we can get some pictures of the kids there.

The battery on the computer is almost gone so I better go. I will try to write again tonight.

  2. Hi Denise,
I'm loving these pictures and the story. Jan. 12 was my birthday so I will think of it as Clara Mei's new family day! I'm keeping you all in my prayers in this great adventure.
    In His Love,
    Judy P.

  3. Denise, we are glad to hear that you might be going to a library - take pictures if you can and we will have a viewing when you come back.

Little Clara is such a doll! I was in a store yesterday and found myself looking at the cute little lace purses that they already have out for Easter.

We look forward to y'all's return and arrival.
