Q&A and Update from Neesie

First, I want to say thanks to my mom for taking the time to keep us all updated and for sending pictures!!! I'm sure she'd rather be playing with her grandkids than sitting alone in Starbucks on the computer. We all appreciate her doing this!!!

Here are some questions that asked along with my mom's responses.

Did YouYou have anything with her when you 'got' her?

She had on the green coat you may have seen her wearing in the pictures. Jenny gave Erica a bag of things--scrapbook made by a volunteer at TCH, a quilt made by a volunteer at TCH. There may have been some other items, but TCH certainly tried to make sure they have some items from her past.

Did she bring home anything from the care packages?

She brought the toy telephone, doll, lamb, bag, and photo album that we sent her in the first care package. Also the card with Erica and Aaron telling her they love her. The telephone, doll and card have been played with a good bit.

Did she only have the clothes she was wearing & PJ's underneath?

She was wearing a light green coat and there was a dress in the bag from Jenny that Erica had not sent. Jenny said maybe it was one of her favorites and the foster mother sent it.

Does she like to watch videos? What is her favorite?

As far as I know, she has not been still long enough to watch a video.

Does she hug Jackson and Carter?

Yes, and today in one of the shops the boys were not with her and she was asking about her GuGus. One of the ladies in the shop even commented that she was looking for her big brother. They are getting along together very well. She is just soooo little and those big boys have to be careful they do not bump her.

What is her favorite toy?

Anything with buttons. She loves playing with the telephone in the room, and turning on the noise maker Erica uses in their room at night.

Here is Neesie’s update.

This morning we went to the Chen Family Museum. There were little shops around a courtyard (they probably do not call it a courtyard) and we had tea with our guide. Erica and YouYou are napping now, Aaron and the boys went to play in the Kiddie room - they have a small basketball goal there and the boys love that!

Erica really likes the picture of the 3 kids with YouYou's hand over her mouth laughing. The one of me is with the artist in one of the shops. We purchased several of his hand paintings. He was using his hand, fingers, fingernails, and side of hand...it was very interesting to watch him.
